    Calling all female entrepreneurs!

    Hot on the heels of our first sell out events, Make It Your Business is holding several more seminars across London throughout 2017.

    Designed to encourage and inform women who want to start their own business, these seminars provide the opportunity to hear the experiences of four successful female entrepreneurs, and to network with a like minded and supportive group of women.

    Our London North event will feature the following panellists:

    Zana Morris (The Library Gym)
    Sarah Austin (The Really Helpful Club)
    Lucy Standing (Viewvo).

    The event will be moderated by Virginia Crosbie, Conservative candidate for Rhondda, Wales.

    Advanced Process

    Back to back 1-2-1 sessions to put you through your paces ahead of attending your PAB. This workshop is for those who have already submitted their application forms to Candidates Department, and those who have already attended the Introduction to Process workshop AND applied for your PAB. Priority will be given to people who already have a date for their PAB but you will need to email development@conservativewomen.org.uk your PAB application form before you can be accepted on the course.

  • Sat 8 Jul 2017: CWO Development: Public Speaking Parts I, II, III Postponed
    REGISTRATION CLOSED

    Priority will be given to people who live outside of London. Places will be confirmed on that basis.

    Part I: Introduction to Public Speaking

    The introduction explains the different public speaking environments; what to prepare for; and targeting your speech to your audience. It also gives you an introduction to speech structures and styles and there is a breakout session to give you practice making a short speech.

    Part II: Debating Policy
    Part II explains the policy development process and how to make an effective case For and Against and there is a breakout session to give you practice in a mock debate.

    Part III: The Press Conference
    The final part of the day teaches you how to sell your proposal; how to present your case to the media; and what to consider when answering questions from journalists. There is a breakout session to give you practice in a mock press conference.

    Hot on the heels of our first sell out events, Make It Your Business is holding several more seminars across London throughout 2017.

    Designed to encourage and inform women who want to start their own business, these seminars provide the opportunity to hear the experiences of four successful female entrepreneurs, and to network with a like minded and supportive group of women.

    The emphasis is on practical advice and support from those who have already trodden the path and the evening starts with a networking session, followed by a panel discussion and questions.

    Our next City event will feature the following panellists:
    • Jacqueline Abbott-Deane - founder and CEO of Tactix consultancy, the change management consultant firm that serves corporations in the FTSE 100
    • Shalini Khemka, founder of E2E Exchange, a network of 18,000 entrepreneur members with revenues from £500,000 per year upwards
    • Claire Owen, founder of Stopgap - the UK’s largest marketing recruitment company
    • Sylvia Marshall, founder of three companies: Zero To A Mi££ion Club, Cosy Homes Online and ATI
    Moderated by Kerry Hopkins, Chief Media Strategist at Broadcast Ready, former ITV and BBC TV journalist and NASDAQ/FTSE100 corporate communications PR.
