In celebration of International Women’s Day 2021, the CWO is taking this year’s theme (Gender Equality in Education) to address gender equality in political history and spotlighting the women the Conservative Party have forgotten.
The CWO has selected six Conservative women that history has forgotten and celebrates the contribution that they made to the advancement of women in politics. Each woman will be championed by a different speaker. In true political tradition, the CWO will produce a pamphlet of the six women and make this available to attendees.
We hope this will highlight political role models that are women, take ownership of our history, raise awareness of Conservative women in history and the contributions they made.
Zoom details for this event will be email (to everyone who books) around noon on the day of the event. Please check your junk folders on a laptop if you do not receive them.
This event will launch the project to create a CWO book, entitled Feminist Icons the Conservative Party Forgot. If you would like to be involved, please read below for how you can get involved.
This event shone a light on only six women, there are many more. Help us celebrate these women by contributing to the book. You will need to
NOTE: By submitting the entry to Rushi, you will give the CWO unlimited rights over the text to use as they wish. All submissions must be original work written by the contributor, submissions suspected of plagiarism will not be used.
