By Gonul Daniels, Deputy National Chairman of the CWO
As we went into the CWO’s centenary year I wanted to recognise the many women who had achieved so much for the Conservative Party.
As it was 100 years of the CWO I decided to stick with the “100” theme and recognise 100 women, over 100 days in 100 words.
Every day for 100 days I published
In this 100th year of the Conservative Women’s Organisation CWO London are featuring an inspirational Conservative woman daily on our Facebook Page and detailing their achievements in 100 words.
I wanted to recognise women who worked day in and day out at grassroots level for the Conservative Party, like Jill Summers as well as those women that everyone knew and would expect to appear, like Margaret Thatcher.
I invited nominations, some of which appeared, and some would have taken me over the 100 count.
It was a wonderful project and I had many favourites from the inspirational women who appeared. I got to know them well whilst reducing the word count on their lives and achievements.
My all-time favourite – Baroness Trumpington.
