Building your Political CV
What happens after you have #AskedHerToStand? There are so many opportunities to build your political CV, from the voluntary party (Marjorie) to being a councillor (Selina) or Police & Crime Commissioner (Alison). Come along to find out more about starting your political journey.

HOSTING: Fleur Butler (CWO National Chairman)
CHAIRING: Marjorie Baylis (CWO South West Regional Chairman)
SPEAKERS: Cllr Selina Seesunker (CCA London Region representative) & Alison Hernandez (PCC for Devon, Cornwall & Scilly Isles)

Marjorie Baylis
Marjorie has been an activist for over 30 years, campaigning and fundraising for most of that time. She has a long track record of nurturing new talent and bringing people to the Party. Having recently retired from an Area role, she is going to take her own medicine and throw her hat into the ring for a more senior role, coming up in the Autumn. She is currently the SW Regional Chairman of CWO. ’Ask not what your Party can do for you, but what you can do for your party’.

Alison Hernandez
Alison has been a Party member since 2008 and carried out various roles from Councillor to Campaign Manager. Now elected as one of the 7 female Police and Crime Commissioners out of 43 and Deputy Chairman of the CWO in the South West.

Cllr Sellna Seesunkur
Selina was elected in 2018 at the London Borough of Waltham Forest, which is Labour controlled. In 2019 she became a GLA candidate and is currently 5th on the Londonwide list for the Mayoral elections in 2021. In 2020 she became a Deputy Chairman for CWO London and she was elected in a national election of Councillors to serve as the London Representatives for the Conservative Councillors’ Association.
