CWO West Midlands Mini Conference & AGM – a day of discussion and networking.

March 21st 2020 LOCATION: Birmingham

A gathering of Conservative women to celebrate our achievements and hear about our members experiences with the aim of helping support greater activism of women within the Party and raise their profile in public life. We will have Theo Clarke MP one of our 6 newly elected West Midlands women MPs, senior members of the voluntary party and of course our wonderful members, yourselves too!

CWO is proud to be the oldest politically affiliated female organisation in the world, supporting women into elected office; representing women in the Party, and connecting with women voters.

  • 10.30 – 10.45: Welcome by Fleur Butler, Chair of the CWO
  • 10.45 – 12.30: Speakers
  • 12.30 – 13.00: Lunch
  • 13.00 – 14.30: break-out sessions x3
  • 14.30 – 15.30: CWO AGM Registration, networking

Speaker: Theo Clarke MP for Stafford

Theo is a member of the International Development Committee and the former Chief Executive of the Coalition for Global Prosperity (backed by Bill Gates) which brings together political, military, business and faith leaders who believe that an effective development budget, alongside an active diplomatic and defence strategy, keeps Britain at the forefront of saving lives, alleviating poverty and bringing freedom, security and prosperity to those who need it most.

Speaker: Sophie Richards, candidate for Coventry North East

Sophie will talk us through the joys, challenges and pitfalls of the 2019 campaign and what she has learned!

Speaker: Fleur Butler, CWO National Chairman

Fleur’s background was in management consultant for the charity sector, before going into politics and becoming Leader of Richmond District Council. She was the only female at that time of any party to sit on the Yorkshire Regional Leader’s Board before being selected to stand as an MEP in 2009. She was a member of the Council of Europe and part of the election monitoring teams in Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia. She still trains women in politics in countries as diverse as Indonesia and Moldova, to Mexico and The Balkans. She has also written for the Independent and Conservative Home

Speaker: Rushi Millns, CWO Digital

Rushi is an IT professional turned teacher. She started her career in the Internet and Telecoms industry and moved into Business Continuity and Cloud Computing before retraining as a teacher. Rushi is now Director of Careers & Outreach as well as heading up the Computing department at a senior school. Rushi stood as a parliamentary candidate in the 2019 General Election and is Deputy Chairman Political of the Windsor Conservatives Association.
