During her time as MP, she was PPS to International Development Minister, Rory Stewart, which allowed her to become more involved with a Department she is particularly passionate about. Amanda was also a member of two committees, The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee and the Joint Committee for Human Rights.
As a member of the BEIS Committee she took part in inquiries looking in to some of the major challenges facing businesses around the UK. There were also a couple of inquiries of note that they carried out in 2016 into working practices at Sports Direct and the collapse of BHS.
The Joint Committee for Human Rights chose Amanda as their Rapporteur for Mental Health. During her time in this role, Amanda visited several prisons around the country to look in to the growing problem of self-inflicted deaths in custody, concluding with the committee carrying out an inquiry.
Amanda was National Deputy 2013-15 and CWO East Midlands Regional President 2016 to date.
