CWO Power Hour with Gillian Keegan. Sec of State

Tuesday 27th June, 6-7pm. Free event on zoom: NI CWO are pleased to host Gillian Keegan, Secretary of State for Education, and look forward to welcoming our wider national CWO members.

Gillian will share her journey across her corporate and political career to date, as well as the importance having women in politics and ‘Asking Her To Stand’ with some practical guidance as to how to get involved or support those who are wishing to stand. Please RSVP to secure your space.

Gillian started her career as an apprentice in the manufacturing industry. For almost 30 years that followed her apprenticeship she worked and lived abroad, working in the manufacturing, banking and IT industries. In 2014 she switched her focus to politics. She was first elected as a local councillor in October 2014 and in May 2015 she stood as a parliamentary candidate in St Helens South and Whiston, Merseyside, gaining second place for the Conservatives for the first time. Gillian was first elected in June 2017 as MP for Chichester and re-elected in 2019. Since becoming an MP Gillian has occupied several positions, her current being Secretary of State for Education.
