CWO At Conservative Party Conference

There was a strong CWO presence as always at this year’s Conservative Party Conference.

CWO organised a number of panels discussing vital issues. Including a panel chaired by CWO Deputy Chairman Aphra Brandreth on Violence Against Women and Girls with an experienced panel comprising of Katherine Fletcher MP the new Minister for Women, Donna Jones PCC for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and Cllr Rebecca Smith. The panel audience was standing room only, and there were some brilliant and insightful questions and contributions from our members in the audience.

CWO also hosted an excellent panel on Sustainable Transport chaired by CWO Deputy Chairman Rushi Millns, with an expert panel including Baroness Charlotte Vere, Isobel Grant & Cllr Lana Hempsall.

And our CWO Chairman Pamela Hall chaired a panel on Becoming a Councillor in partnership with the Conservative Councillors Association.

Women in the party are a significant force on policy and campaigning and we had a strong and positive presence everywhere throughout the conference, with our Women’s stand the place to be! It was wonderful to see so many of our members speaking on panels and contributing to policy discussions, and we had lots of fun too at events including the Women in Politics buffet lunch where key members of the candidates department were on hand to talk about the process of becoming an MP
