CWO National AGM with guest speaker Gillian Keegan, Secretary of State for Education

It was wonderful to come together to hold our National AGM, an opportunity to update members on the work of the CWO over the past 12 months as well as to meet new members of the National Officer team and thank retiring officers.

The AGM was a packed out event held at Dammikas Sri Lankan Restaurant in Victoria, London. Starting with reflections on the year, with our Chairman Pamela Hall OBE updating on the events, fundraising and campaigning activity.

The election of officers were as follows: Eve Burt – President, Pamela Hall OBE – Chairman, Aphra Brandreth – Deputy Chairman, Neeti Gupta – Deputy Chairman, Susan Coleman – Deputy Chairman, Louise Brice – Additional Officer Tech & Digital, Janet Parrot – Treasurer, Alex Mathieson – Secretary.

It was wonderful to welcome some new officers to the National Team. We were sorry to say goodbye to Rushi Millns who has now completed her 3 year term as Deputy Chairman. Rushi has worked tirelessly for the CWO over the past few years and we are delighted that she will continue to be involved supporting on various projects over the coming months (more on that soon!), and she is now an Honorary President of the CWO.

After the formal AGM we were delighted to be joined by Gillian Keegan MP, Secretary of State for Education. Gillian gave an uplifting speech on her journey into politics and her priorities for skills and eduction.
