Speaker Bios

Sara Britcliffe MP

Sara Britcliffe was born and raised in Hyndburn where her family still live. She is alumni of Manchester University graduating with a BA in Modern Languages. Sara began her political career as Mayoress of Accrington and was later elected as a councillor for the ward of St. Andrews (previously represented by her father) in the Hyndburn Council election. Sara was elected MP of Hyndburn and Haslingden in December 2019, she was the youngest Conservative MP elected, and the first to represent the constituency since 1992.

Cllr Adele Warren

Adele has lived in Bolton all her life. She was chosen as a candidate for the May 2018 election for a historically strong Labour Ward, Breightmet, increasing the vote share by 57% and winning the seat. Adele is the Executive member for Environmental Service Delivery, having responsibility for waste, parks and green spaces, homelessness, school meals and clean air. She is also the treasurer for a conservative group called Bolton NEWT, completing conservation activities and community events which attract hundreds of attendees and the chairperson for Breightmet Litter Pickers, a community group of volunteers which litter pick and remove fly tipping either as a group or solo pickers. Adele also volunteers weekly with a homeless street kitchen and is the deputy chairperson for North East Conservative Association membership and fundraising.

Cllr Charlotte Leach

Charlotte has been a Councillor on Cheshire East Council since the May 2019 Local Elections. She previously served as a Councillor on Preston City Council and was elected at 22 years old, making her one of the youngest Councillors in the Country. On Cheshire East Council she serves in the Shadow Cabinet and she also has a full time job as a Senior Consultant at Lexington Communications, advising clients on political strategy. Prior to working at Lexington she worked for two MPs in Parliament.

Cllr Denise Dutton

Denise is the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group on Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council and Borough Councillor for Harington Ward Formby.

Cllr Wendy McClure

Wendy is the Councillor for the Newbarns ward in the Borough of Barrow in Furness, currently in her third term. She supported her husband for 10 years as a Borough Councillor and it was during their year as Mayor and Mayoress that she decided to stand as a councillor myself. Wendy has served on every committee within the council and many outside bodies, her current committees are Executive, Overview and Scrutiny and Licensing. She is a fund co-ordinator for a local charity and can quite often direct those applying for funding to help and assistance within her community due to the wealth of knowledge gained as a councillor and local businesswoman.
