There was a strong CWO presence as always at this year’s Conservative Party Conference in Manchester.
CWO organised two panels discussing vital issues. On the Sunday there was a panel chaired by CWO Deputy Chairman Aphra Brandreth on The Future of Energy in the UK with an experienced panel comprising of Chris Green MP, Vicky Ford MP, Cllr Alix Mathieson and Sarah Richardson (Senior Advisor, Gren Energy Ltd). The expert panel answered questions from the floor and had a wide ranging and passionate discussion, ranging from policy ideas and future energy solutions from nuclear to hydrogen and carbon capture.
CWO also hosted an excellent panel on the Tuesday discussing The Future of Work chaired by Louise Brice CWO Head of Tech & Social Media, with an expert panel including Mims Davies MP, Gillian Keegan MP, Paul Scully MP, Pamela Hall OBE.
It was wonderful to see so many of our members speaking on panels and contributing to policy discussions, and we had lots of fun too at events including the Women in Politics buffet lunch where key members of the candidates department were on hand to talk about the process of becoming an MP.
