Effective Campaigning
Campaigning is an integral part of political life. At this event, we will speak about local campaigning for Hammersmith Bridge (Aphra), City campaigning (Louise) and in a General Election (Fabia).

HOSTING: Neeti Gupta (Head of CWO Forums & Talks)
CHAIRING: Aphra Brandreth (CWO Southern Regional Chairman)
GUESTS: Louise Calland (Tooting) & Fabia Tate (Thirsk & Malton)

Aphra Brandreth
Aphra is a local Councillor, Deputy Leader of her group and Conservative Spokesperson for Finance. She stood as the parliamentary candidate in the 2019 General Election in Kingston & Surbiton. Aphra is currently the Chairman for the CWO Southern Region and has been a deputy chair political for her local association with extensive experience of working on local and general election campaigns. Aphra worked as an Economic Adviser for the Government in the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for 10 years before going on to set up a successful group of Veterinary Clinics with her husband.

Louise Calland
Louise is currently the London Assembly candidate for Merton and Wandsworth. She has been a councillor in London for 7 years, and in the 2019 General Election stood as the parliamentary candidate in Hemsworth – coming within a thousand votes of winning in a seat that has never once been Conservative in the last 100 years! Louise works in health policy for a pharmaceutical company and specialises in cell and gene therapies. She is currently working from home with her husband, cat and ever growing baby bump.

Fabia Tate
Fabia spent several years working as a Conservative Campaign Manager for a variety of election campaigns in South West London. In 2018, she moved to Melbourne for a year as Head of Media and Communications for an Independent MP, working closely on her re-election campaign. In 2019, she moved back to Yorkshire and stood as the Parliamentary Candidate for York Central. She now runs a small business and works as an Insurance Broker and is looking to get involved in the 2021 County Council Elections.
